Sunlight Travel – Exotic Asia 14 Days
We settle in for a transpacific flight. Pass time with in-flight meals and entertainment. Spend the night aboard the airplane. Upon arrival in Hongkong, we board a connecting flight to Bangkok. In Bangkok, we are met and greeted at the airport. After being transferred to the hotel, we attend a Thai welcome dinner. Our tour of beautiful and exotic Bangkok begins in earnest today. After an American breakfast at the hotel, we visit and admire the royal splendor of the Grand Palace and the Coronation Hall. Buddhism is one of the cornerstones of Thai culture and we can certainly appreciate the level of devotion when we visit the Emerald Buddha Temple. The afternoon is free at leisure. Day 5: Bangkok (Full American Breakfast, Lunch)
Today we explore the famous Dam Nern Saduak Floating Market on Bangkok’s Klongs (canals.) The afternoon is free at leisure; some of us may elect to go on an optional tour to the Rose Garden. Day 6: Bangkok – Chiang Mai (Full American Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Show)
After an American breakfast at the hotel, we fly to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, we are met and transferred to the hotel. We visit the historic and sacred Doi Suthep Temple, located at 3,500 feet above sea level. The temple’s pagoda contains the holy relic of Lord Buddha. After lunch at a local restaurant, we visit the Thai Handicraft Village, Sangkhempeng Factories of silk and cotton handweaving and Borsang, renowned for umbrellas and primitive paper making. In the evening, we enjoy the Khantoke Lanna Dinner with a show. Day 7: Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai (Full American Breakfast, Lunch, International Buffet Dinner)
After an American breakfast at the hotel, we proceed to see the elephants at work in the jungle area. We also visit the Chiang Dao Cave and the Meo Village. Lunch is served at a restaurant. In the afternoon we go to Thatorn and meet the hill tribes and observe their traditions. We transfer to Chiang Rai and have dinner served at Dusit Island Resort Restaurant. Day 8: Chiang Rai – Golden Triangle – Bangkok (Full American Breakfast, Lunch, Int’l Buffet Dinner)
We visit Chiang Sean, the old capital of the Lanna Kingdom and the “Golden Triangle” where Myanmar, Laos and Thailand meet. We continue on to Mai Sai, which is the northernmost town at the Thai – Myanmar Chiang Rai Airport for a flight back to Bangkok . Upon arrival, we check-in to Sofitel Central Grand Plaza Hotel. Dinner tonight is the International Buffet at the hotel restaurant. Day 9: Bangkok – Singapore (Full American Breakfast, Dinner)
With our delightful exploration of Thailand completed, we board the morning flight to Singapore. Upon arrival, we are transferred to the hotel. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities. Our sightseeing tour today includes visits to the Merlion Park and the famous Botanical Garden, which features one of the world’s largest selections of different varieties of orchids. After lunch, visit Chinatown and SentosaIsland – Singapore’s highly acclaimed leisure and recreational resort. Day 11: Singapore – Hongkong (Full American Breakfast)
We depart Singapore and travel to Hongkong by air. Day 12: Hongkong (Full American Breakfast)
Our half day Hongkong city tour includes Hongkong Island, Repulse Bay and Victoria Peak. The rest of the day is free for us to explore this shopper’s paradise. Day 13: Hongkong (Full American Breakfast)
Enjoy a nice breakfast in the hotel. The whole day is free on our own arrangement. Do the last minute buys or further explore Hongkong Island by joining the optional activities “Aberdeen & Harbor Dinner Cruise” or Macao Excursion. We bid Hongkong a fond farewell and board our homebound Cathay Pacific flight.
